Salsa dancing

Beginning salsa dance classes will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday starting today at the Augusta Jewish Community Center, 898 Weinberger Way in Evans. Cost is $115. For information, call (706) 228-3636.

Reed Creek items

Reed Creek Park holds children's programs, including a nature walk, for 3- to 5-year-olds from 10-11 a.m. today; a program on frogs for ages 5 and older from 7-8 p.m. Thursday; and a program on science using clay for ages 5 and older from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday. Spay-ghetti event

The Columbia County Humane Society will hold a Spay-ghetti dinner and silent auction from 4:30-8 p.m. Thursday at Marvin United Methodist Church, Belair Road at Wheeler Road. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children. Call (706) 541-2911.

Choral concert

The Columbia County Choral Society will present The Seven Last Words of Christ by Theodore Dubois at 7:30 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Evans, Belair Road at Washington Road. Rescue benefit

A dinner and trivia contest to benefit Heartsong Animal Rescue and Augusta Area Rescue Friends will be at 4 p.m. April 17 at the Bessie Thomas Community Center in Grovetown. Tickets cost $15 (two for $25) and are available at Heartsong Spay Neuter Clinic, at PetSmart on Saturdays, by calling (706) 860-9300 or e-mailing heartsongent@hotmail.com.
